Brisbane 2032 procurement

The Games will be delivered across Queensland, with venues stretching from Cairns to Coolangatta. For the Sunshine Coast, this means major infrastructure investment and a wave of procurement opportunities tied to transport, residential, commercial, sporting projects and event delivery.

The Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games represents a transformative opportunity for the Sunshine Coast. As the first Games awarded under the IOC’s new sustainability and legacy-focused hosting model, Brisbane 2032 is more than a global sporting event. It’s a platform for long-term economic, social, and environmental progress.

What it means for Sunshine Coast businesses

The Games will be delivered across Queensland, with venues stretching from Cairns to Coolangatta. For the Sunshine Coast, this means major infrastructure investment and a wave of procurement opportunities tied to transport, residential, commercial, sporting projects and event delivery. The event delivery requires a significant breadth of goods and services to help make the Games a success. Local businesses will be drawn on to make this possible.

Why local businesses should act

The Organising Committee has made it clear: local SMEs will play a key role in delivering the Games. Capable suppliers with focus on sustainability, innovation, and social impact will be best positioned to win contracts and contribute to the region’s legacy. SMEs are positioned to play a major role in the supply chain, and if aligned with the key focus areas, can leverage the commercial opportunities that the Games presents.
